Best sim for the money?

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
Hi All,
Just getting into the hobby, and can REALLY see the advantage of using a SIM before actually going out into the fresh air......

Looking for a good/reasonable (free??) sim, and any advice is appreciated. I am trying to stay away from the $300 versions, that I'm sure are great/realistic, but just beyond my budget.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Just beginning - any and all info appreciated

I used FMS the software is free all you need to buy is a cable to conect your transmitter to the computer. I payed something like $40.00 for mine with shipping. Unless your trying to learn some high end manuvers this sim will work just fine. And yes fly that sim before after and during your training it's a geat way to learn your lefts and rights upright and inverted! Sim $40.00 Plane, RX and motor $300.00 plus it was an easy decision for me. Good luck

I keep having the same mechanical problem. I've got a loose nut on the transmitter!

Hi Roger

I certainly don t want to turn you off . I have just started flying this season and I wasn t the only one . the sim s are good but nothing replaces the real thing . Two other of the members that was in the club had sims and when all was said and done it came out to be its a lot of money . It is only my oppinion that , get you reself a good trainer and a good instructer . This is real hands on experience . The other two guys in the club did good , but they only gave a small percentage of help to the sim , But each to his own right Welcome to the hobby , this site is a great place .

Take Care

Hi Roger,

Another option is to buy the older G2. I see alot of these forsale if you look around. G2 is not as hardware demanding as the G3, but is just as good of a teaching aid. I had flown planes before I had bought my G2, but have since tought myself to fly heli with G2. I have never had an instructor to teach me to fly the helicopter, simply because no one at our club flew them. I am now on my second year of flying my JR Venture and it's still in one piece.
