How is the Spirit of St. Louis pronounced? I have heard so many people call it either two things and was just wondering myself what one was correct.

is it Spirit of St Loo-ie
or Spirit of St. Loo-is

Just wondering... oh and what is the place called that it was named after? same pronounceation or what?

St. Loo-iss (I added an "s" to be sure to differentiate between the sound required and the word "is."

If you want a "professional" pronunciation, tune into the U.S. National League playoffs to hear the announcers pronounce the name of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. Do it soon, as the Cards may not last long!

The Ryan NYP.

I had the pleasure of inspecting a replica being built at Rhinebeck when I was there last month. A beautiful site, in-the-bones, looked to be almost ready to cover. I have some pictures if you'd like.
