draganfly 6 and 9 gram servos - DON'T

I put this here in interest of helping out fellow RC people.

Why do people keep buying these little yellow servos? They are absolute CRAP! Around here we refer to them as POS servos.

DON'T BUY THEM! - No matter how good the deal is.

I bought six of them awhile back. They don't center, the resolution is terrible, the gears strip if you so much as sneeze within 10 feet of them. I very quickly removed them from service. Of the six I had 2 that are not useable and 4 were barely used and as new.

The servos were pretty much new, but I just couldn't bring myself to sell them to anyone. They had been sliding around in the drawer for the past while.

Finally, I cracked a beer, put the little yellow servos on the work bench, gave my 3 year old a hammer and watched the fun unfold. It was a fitting end to the yellow POS's.

The other upside is it followed by a neat micronics parts lesson AND I have some relatively expensive replacement servo leads leftover.

I have visions of a little boy going into his dad's hobby room and starting to take the hammer to the bigger, better, more expensive servos now!!!

The LHS has a bunch of bulk servos they sell for 8 or 9 dollars. I can't bring myself to use them, but they are apparently OK in place of an HS55.

I do beleive you get what you pay for especially these days.
