I have used basically all of them and resin core will work if it is cleaned well. Myself I use most often the acid core with a little silver content that you get in a green tube at the hardware store. Wash it after as it will corrode later. Mine don't last that long You are also better off using an iron than a torch for the small connectors. Heat the connector side and let the solder flow into the joint.
Do not get this stuff anywhere near electrical wire or connections.

The NyRod I used on my throttle was brass plated. It was gold in colour and soldered very well with the resin I used for copper pipes in my house. An electric soldering iron was all that was needed.
