Goop not goonies tonite. Need to patch and seal a small pinhole in the plastic fuel tank. Would household Goop be fuelproof? Or is there a better substitute? Red RV sealer is about $9.00 a tube.

use your soldering iron or something similar and seal the hole by gently melting. Most other methods will fail.

I have foung goop to be fuel proof. I have used it for this exact same purpose on an 8 oz tank. (Don't ask how it acquired a nice clean 1/16" diameter hole through the front of it.)

Between my Dad and I, we probably keep goop in business. My Dad introduced me to it as he uses it for many things in Sailboats (full size, not RC). He loves to restore old boats buy, especially sailboats.

Myself, I use it for model aiirplane windshields, formed fairings, parkflyers, kids toys, heck, it di a great job on a cracked weedeater gastank! I picked up another tube last week. It is heavy, so go lightly on the planes, it doesn't take much anyway.

Soldering iron works good for tanks. I've sealed a 2" split. It was still good after 20 or 30 hard flights. I changed it as a preventive thing, the tank was still working fine.

goop is fuel proof. I use it for mounting my fuel tanks to the fire wall. No fuel in the fuse yet.
