Same thing happened to me as a kid with a small minibike I had. I was stopped with the engine off but the exhaust heat shield was still quite hot.

I somehow lost my balance (while stopped of all things) and the bike tipped right, contacting the heat shield with my right calf. I quickly righted it, but the damage was done.

The reverse of the "Honda" logo which was embossed onto the heat shield was now perfectly embossed onto my leg.

Besides the fact that it wanted to roll left all the time, it also needed some "up" elevator trim, which I asked my friend to add..... hmmm.... still not flying level.... ask for more trim..... still not there, but my friend has said he has given me all the trim he can, so I decide to just fly it as it was. Couple more circuits and I decide to make a landing approach, so I throttle back..... and the plane is still moving pretty fast!!!! So I throttle all the way back, and it still seems to be going awfully fast.... after a rather ugly landing, I discovered that my friend had actually been adjusting my THROTTLE trim and not the elevator!!!

Still like to bug him about that one!! He know's who he is!! :P
I asked one of the more experienced pilots to take a scratch built Kaos up for its maiden flight. I did the exact same mistake as your friend and trimmed the throttle instead od the elevator as he was flying the plane so when he came in to land he came in pretty hot. I guess I should mention the gentleman flying the plane was also the planes builder and my instuctor from my learning days. God I felt like an idiot.

I keep having the same mechanical problem. I've got a loose nut on the transmitter!

I guess it is actually true though. since matter is not lost, the smoke actually does contain the former stuff that made it work in the first place

Back in my control line days in the early seventies, my combat flying buds and I would ride our bikes to the local field. Everyone always carried their stuff in a big plastic bag (model, fuel, battery, lines, handle, etc). This one particular trip, I had to swerve to avoid hitting a car and my bag got sucked into my front forks. It went around at least twice before I got the bike stopped....what an omlete! The boys pissed themselves that day.

How about chopped habaneros, rubbed my eye, spent the next 30 minutes rinsing my eye, alternating between water and milk.

They should put a warning on those things
