A sad note!

Southern RC Flyers past president Jim Jewell has passed away. On wed. afternoon after a number of days spent in ICU Jim slipped away peacefully. Jim will always be remembered for all his efforts within our club, mostly his work orchestrating Race Against Drugs, the in school program teaching kids about flight and the annual cross country fly so many of us enjoy every fall. On a personal note, Jim was first instructor to both my son, Josh and myself. Starting a passion we both enjoy today. He will be sadly missed.

Sincere Condolences

Yes, it is very sad. Jim was a great person. I flew with him last year at our cross country event. He was one of the organizers of it over the last few years. Unfortunately his health wasn't good enough for this year to attend. We spent some time with Jim at Toledo this year where he one. Here is a couple pics we have of Jim with John Mainwaring, Ron Harway, Jim and MAAC President Richard Barlow and of his win at Toledo.
A picture of our last cross country at the Chatham club with some of Jim's friends.

We wish Jim's family, friends our deepest sympathy. He will be missed
