I want to refinish a 3 year airplane, I would like to cover it in white and something else, but I have son red Bondo on different place on the fuse and I'm affraid to see it thrue the white covering, is-it possible to put something like a primer on the fuse before the covering, and if it's yes, what kind should I spray?

Thank you

Not sure but you could spray or brush on a coat of white nitrate dope.
On my latest I brushed on a couple of coats before the ultakote and it sticks down very good to it.

Nitrate dope comes in colours? This I didn't know. Where do you get it? That would save a priming step when doping and spraying a plane with butyrate.

Primer still offers a fairly course finish so I don't see why the ultracote wouldn't stick to it. If you are still worried try it on a scrap test piece of wood first.

You could even apply balsa rite or "stick-it" over the primer, on your test piece first of course, and see how that goes.

Seems people don't think about "trying" things first on a scrap piece before applying to their whole model. If I am trying something new I always do this first. It only adds maybe one or two more nights to your build time but that's a lot better then if you apply to your whole model then find out some things don't work and you have to strip everything down and start over.

Any white automotive primer, from Canadian Tire, should work but again try it on test piece first. A grey primer would also work as well and may add a little more depth to your white colour ultracote.

Let us know what you decide and how you make out.
