Sarnia indoor fun fly

We were able to use a school gym for the last 2 mondays to fly indoors. Had about a dozen guys or more out. A few foamies, some home builts, a couple of copters and a bunch of Aero Aces. To lighten it up, I created a couple of Air Hogs awards and we held 2 competitions. The pylon race had 2 members being pylons while 3 flyers made 5 circuits around them. The winner of each of 3 heats had a show down and our first winner of the coveted Air Hogs Pylon award was Roger from the Forest flying club. Of course he now gets to proudly display the award at his home until the next indoor flying event where he must defend his title. Here is Roger accepting this prestigious award from yours truly. (Roger is on the right)

The second event was an aerobatic contest. A bench was set up on 2 garbage cans to create a limbo bar. Flyers had 2 minutes to make as many low passes under the limbo bar as possible. This proved more difficult than it may seem. Only 2 pilots managed to make a pass under the limbo bar. These 2 pilots had a sudden death fly off and luckily, yours truly was the first to make a pass under the bar and was able to bring home the second of these highly acclaimed awards.

All in all a good time was had by all. We are working on some dates for the new year and plan a few more competitions to test our flying skills.
