Tim,s shops will give you the ancient discount at age 55,you have to be at least 60 and not working to draw your Canadian Pension Plan, and you must be at least age 65 to draw your Old age security.
The province of Ontario says you must be 65 to get certain types of "free" health care but legislation was just passed that says you cant be forced to retire at an arbitrary age of 65.
The whole 65 thing is artificial anyway and its common to hear doctors say todays 65 is equal to about age 45 a couple of generations ago.
Guess it depends on whether your are buying or selling,or giving or receiving.
As "Boomers" and all their wealth become a retirement force watch for all kinds of pitches to get their business.
Over age 55 is the fastest growing segment at MAAC too, since many people can retire from a regular job early, have disposable funds ,and are looking for something fun and creative to do with others of like mind, and for the first time they have the time and dollars to do whatever they want..........Are they welcome at MAAC? You betcha
The Planet is doing what it has always done.......floods,volcanic eruptions storms,
earthquakes.........but today there are more people in the way.
