Removing reply option for "For Sale"

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
Why don't we remove the reply option from the for sale sections. You post your ad with contact info and can edit as needed. Al inquiries would be in PM or e-mail for the seller to deal with as they wish. The nay sayers, spammers, and jokesters would be left out. Lets hear you opinion!

Sounds like a great idea....Yes Noin....I know you are refering to me, but you are also an ad spammer...not insulting or degrading comments like I post on Sammy's ads (which I have refrained from doing all month in the spirit of Christmas ), but comments that have no reason to be in the ad (before you jump on this, I did do my reasearch on your posts)

So anyway, I think it is a great idea to allow only PM or email discussions when it comes to the For Sale section....it might also prevent people from bumping their own ads to the top of the list three times a day.

You are comparing any of the comments I have made in a forsale thread to what you have done????? You have got to be kidding me, right?

What about common questions, like "is this the blablabla model?" "does this come with servos?" "any crash damage" etc. Without public replies, general information requests such as these will not reach all interested parties.

I've also seen testimonials countless times in "for sale" threads "I've flown Jimmy-Joe-Bob's plane twice, and its as described or better"

Lets also not disregard the "PM sent" response, which I've seen replied to many times with "I didn't get your PM, please re-send" These PM's would be forever in internet limbo-land without the reply option.

Just some thoughts.

Seller can edit to add info to reply to PM questions. Does editing a post bump it to the top?

You made some good points Ben. How about if we leave everything the way it is and we all agree to show sellers the same respect and courtesy that we would expect if we were selling. Shouldn't be that difficult!!

Even if you were to eliminate the posts to the topic. What is to stop someone from starting a second topic on that same model? Or the seller for that mater. You would accomplish nothing just clutter up the whole for sale forum with individual postings same as now. One exception is that now they all fall under the same heading and you can choose to ignore them if you wish.
