Trex SE Maiden flight

Well I just finished dialing in my new SE. I still have some minor tweaks to do with the gyro but otherwise it is all setup.

I also own a X400 that has some upgrades, here is the break-down of the two machines...

Align 430L/11T pinion
315mm Pro Woodies
HS65HB on swash, and HS56HB on tail
Trex XL boom
Trex Tail rotor blades

JGF 450TH/13T pinion
325mm Pro Woodies
HS65HB all around

My X400 is a very capable heli, oodles of power - this thing is a rocket - the piro rate is respectable but not crazy fast. Its roll and flip rates are good (I am still relatively new to these moves but can do them with confidence). It is stable and has a very predictable flight characteristic - basically it does what I ask - and it does it very well.

Onto the SE ... I have only hovered and done slow FF flight and of course gave it some hard pitch inputs - I couldn't resist. So far I am a little dissapointed with the power - in this regard my X400 combo is superior. I still have to tweak the headspeed, so this may improve - but the SE's combo is respectable but so far not "OMG you have got to see this thing climb!" - which is what I as expecting.

However, I was impressed with the cyclic response of the SE, very quick to respond and predictable - looking forward to trying a few rolls with this one! The piro rate is insane - I assume this is the 401 because I am running the same tail setup on the X400 - it is astounding how fast this thing piros...and I haven't tried to crank it up yet!!

Well that is a quick run down of these two helis - as I get more flight time in on the SE I will be sure to update everyone.

Anyone else with similiar machines please chime in - I am curious how you think these setups should stack up.
