I am attempting to understand the instructions for the above charger. Is there a set of simplified instructions in existence for simple folk like me?

I truly would appreciate any help. preferably in kindergarten terms.

Hi Ed,
I'll try in simple terms.

If you have a balance port on your battery and a balancer, check the battery with the balancer, if it is balanced, you can charge it without connecting the balancer to the charger, if it isn't and the imbalance is huge, balance the battery first, then charge with balancer connected to the TP1010.

Here is how to use TP1010 in simple terms.

Connect alligator clips to battery source 12V, and the battery to the battery end. Turn the power on to the charger, the menu will display. Press Red button ENT once, the flashing cursor jumps to the number of cells, with plus or minus buttons, choose the correct number of cells, once done, press Red ENT button once again and the flashing jumps onto the current, select the current, 1C of battery capacity, 350mah at .35, 600mah at .6, 1100mah at 1.1 and so forth. Once these 2 parameters are set, press and hold the Red button, release it when the pack is found and the voltage of pack is displayed. Then it will try to find the balancer, if you do not have the balancer connected, press the +button and it will skip and display the message check voltage, no balancer found. Make sure that the voltage displayed is correct in a ball park figure for the number of cells in the pack, it will start initial charge first and then if the voltage is not too low, it will start the charge and the fan will come on. In the top right corner, it will display no of cells and chg alternately, make sure that the correct number of cells is displayed.

As Chad said, if you have any specific question, just ask.

Thank you to both Chad and Maqsood for taking the time to walk me through the set up procedure for the TP-1010 charger. I am now merrily charging batteries.

I am a great believer in sharing information. Should anybody get bored with electrics and want to try Pylon Racing then I am the man to ask. And you think electrics is expensive!
