AXE CP - Post Crash Repair Vibration
Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
I just finished replacing a few parts after a bad experience this morning while practicing in the basement (front skid support, tail motor mount, main blade grips, blades, and tail boom) and now it vibrates a fair bit when the blades get to low to mid rpm. Can someone help point out some of the things which I can look at to isolate where the problem might be? Also, can someone post some good sites which has information on repair & maybe setup information?
Some initial questions I have:
At what angle should the flybar and paddles be relative to the blades? Exactly parallell? How should these be setup? Can these be eyeballed?
When replacing the main blade grips, the O-rings are lubricated with something? What kind of lube should one use? Are these silicon based?
What kind of lubricant should be used around the main shaft and swash plate assemblies?
When in comes to the tail fin, mine out of the box was not vertical; it was tilted at about a 15 degree angle. I suspect this isn't correct. Can someone confirm the correct position of the tail fin including it's position relative to the rear rotor blades? Adjacent to, 1" in front, etc ...
Are there any special tools one should have to perform maintenance? Jigs, or tricks maybe? What should a good bench have?
Thanks for any comments...
