Hi all,

Just thought I'd say hello and introduce myself since I'll probably be tormenting some of you in the future.

Started flying homemade foam r/c gliders in '96. Beat the heck out of a few of them and moved on to a .40 size trainer. Learned to fly it on my own - never learned to land it properly, lol.

Got out of the hobby about 8 years ago as I didn't have the time and wasn't a a member of MAAC or a local club. That is going to change this time around, mostly for the peace of mind that MAAC insurance brings, and the controlled environment of a club field vs. some random open space like a park.

First real plane was a Tiger Trainer. Ripped the firewall out of that more times than I can count. Built a Goldberg Tiget Two for my first kit and put about 30 seconds of flying on it before I deadsticked it to a crash landing. Damage was minor and repaired but the airplane hasn't flown since. Also started a Dura-plane Stick but never ended up finishing it. Was planning on throwing the the Tiger Trainer wing on it until I learn to fly (land)properly, then using the stock wing.

As for the real world, I did graduate college in '00 with a diploma in Aircraft Maintenance and spent a year bashing rivets on the Dash-8Q400's before layoffs wiped me out.

Ended up at YYZ doing various jobs on the ramp for various compnany's, but SARS, 9/11, the Iraq war, and the rising cost of fuel has hurt the industry. Jobs are far and few and good paying ones are near non-existent. I've since returned to the plumbing business, lol!

And lastly, one of my other hobbies is collecting die-cast model airliners. I see everyone's favourite concordefan hangs out here . He's also a member of the model forum I frequent - same old, same old, lol.

Well, like I said, I'm just sayin' hi. I'm sure you'll get sick of me in time with my questions and general noobishness, lol.

Oh yes, the name is pronounced EZ TaRGeT. Instead of some garbled Helen Keller kinda sound, as I've heard some say, lol. It's a long story.......

You'll never get out of this hobby.. though you said you'd out of the hobby a long time.. This hobby is always in your blood, once you're in it, you'll never get out of it (It's like a terminal disease LOL) .. it's a matter of time you'll be back. I would advise you to get a flight simulator like Realflight G3 to practice on, You have thousand of crashes, but every time aircraft back in one piece again and ready for you to fly again .. best of all , all these crashes doesn't cost you a penny or time to repair your aircraft , and it also teaches you the proper control of aircraft and orientation.. when the real moment comes you'll be like a pro. cuz the real one is not as hard to fly as the flight sim.. hone your skill with a good flight simulator..
