Well I did a major nono.

I was teaching my son to fly on the Electric Telemaster. I turned off the speed control but forgot to unplug the battery at the end of the last flight. Trying to charge the battery today with my Triton I get an error reading "Batty voltage too low".
This is a 20C 11.1 volt 4400 Mah pack worth a few bucks.

Any ideas?

Hi peter,
What voltage you getting on the voltage meter?

Use your wall charger on the tX side, keep watching the pack aall the time, after about half an hour, disconnect and check the voltage, if it is over 9 volts, charge it as 3 cell lipo on triton at a .5c current.

If it doesn't get above 9 volts in half hour, charge it for another 15 or so minutes and check again.

The Triton won;t charge it as it needs to see certain voltage to determine the no of cells, you have drained the pack way down. The wall charger's low amp rate will bring the voltage up and won;t care, as it is not a smart charger.

I did the same thing the other day with my TP 1320mh 7.4volt battery in my Hummingbird FP heli. I have a hobbico Mark 2 charger and charged the battery on the NiMH setting for 15 seconds. Then stopped the charge and restarted the charge on the proper lipoly setting. Took a fullcharge and has seemed as good as new ever since.
When I noticed the battery was left pugged in to the heli it had been like that for about 2 weeks. It had about 2 volts left in the pack.

The Triton will charge it. The Triton slowly ramps up voltage at the beginning of the charge and will do this for a some time before it gives the low volatge warning and aborts the charge. You may have to restart the charge quite a few times but you will get to a point where the Triton will finish the charge as normal.
