Enya engine Question?

Hi, I have an enya 120-4C, used but in fairly good shape. Started it up today on a test stand, went good, engine started with no problems, idle was great but I noticed at the high end that the engine would bounce between 8700 &95-9600, I could get it as high as 10200 but tried to set it at about 9500.It was running on 10% cool power, turning a 14 by 7 prop, would anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Terry.

enya eng; problem

I have an enya 120r , & run a master airscrew 16-6 on it , !5 -8 or 10 good too . I think you need more prop on it & thats a lot of revs you are after . think a bigger prop & less revs would be answer . Mine is 20 some years old , althought it has sometimes been not in use for a couple of years here & there , My compression was down some & so have just fitted a new ring , haven't run it yet , but has to be improved .

Check for an air leak in the fuel line.. Were there any air bubbles in the fuel line at the higher revs?? Also have you sealed off the needle valve to seat fitting.. The new one I ordered came with the rubber sleeve to seal it.. You can also use a piece of fuel tubing, in the same way...

Thanks for the reply`s, I`ll check for air bubbles next test, the prop was 14 by 7, 3-blade, sorry I left that out! I have some larger 2 blades,, I`ll give a 16 by 6 a try and see what happens, thanks for the idea`s guys.
