I certainly didnt have any problems with any vendor, unwashed or not,and
the ZDZ boys at RC Showcase were their usual helpful selves.
I filled out my shopping list without bother including the electrics to power my new 3 Metre glider.
I do think the attendance was down,as was the crowd at the auction,(Friday the 13th/3$ gas/Norwester to the East/Economy/War) who knows?
I think its a little early to assume the show is going down hill.
$3 for a hot dog or a bottle of H2O is a bit much, the free parking for exhibitors is gone, and the optional on site Hotel is really going down hill in a hurry. There are options to all of these problems however.
The second floor is where the action is and the bargains too.........just make sure you know what you are looking for and what its worth.
The MAAC booth has become a little home away from home for hundreds of MAAC members and its worth every nickel of cost and the time volunteers put in to run it........we took a few memberships, solved a few problems, did some minor politics, answered a lot of questions, and promoted Canadian events to our US brothers and Im sure we shall do it again next year.
Next day there were meetings with the AMA Exec, and committee heads of the safety and frequency committees.Main subjects were LiPo usage ,and on spectrum 2.4 ,which included the reps from Futaba and JR spektrum to bring all up to date on these important subjects.
Toledo is like Oshkosh............you just gotta go once.
All above is just my opinion of course.
