Is there an easy way to determine the C of G on a plane. I got a plane second hand and am trying to figure out where the CG should be. The LAnding Gear is located in front of the Leading edge of the wing if that helps.

C of G

Try about 1.5 " from lead edge and go from there. Is the plane covered yet?? If so you worked fast.

A good landing is when you, the pilot, can walk away !!!

Blanket statements about so many inches from the LE do not offer much help. Think about tapered wings. Which point on LE is the CG measured from?

The attached diagram shows how to establish the chord line along which the 25%, 30% etc, etc, should be measured. The chord line is known as the MAC (Mean Aerodynamic Chord)
