Someone else has the same question on RCG...

The cell count simply determines the voltage that the charger will charge at. The C rating is the current that it will charge at.

If you can't tell how many cells are in the pack, since there is no overlap between a discharged 3S pack and a charged 2S pack, you can measure the voltage on your pack and determine how many cells are in the pack.

The maximum voltage you can get a 2S is 8.6v, and that's overcharged. (8.4 is considered peak) The lowest resting voltage you should have with a 3S is 9.0v.

Forget the label. You wouldn't charge a 3S pack at 2S voltage because you would be done before you started.

Well I am glad to see that I am not alone with my batt problem. They came down kinda hard on that other guy at RCG. The batt is a 3cell batt, I think that it is just mislabeled.
As stikflyer said the Triton will auto detect anyway, then I will know for sure. I just thought it very strange. Wonder how many other batts are mislabeled?
My wallet is alot lighter since getting into Helis as a hobby

Just stumbled upon this post, now a month old, but I was curious if anyone bothered to contact the manufacturer or distributor of Apogee batteries to clear up the confusion? I also noticed that Zebra is currently offering Apogee batteries at a pretty good sale price.
