A couple of years ago I was told that the Canadian Tire brand of paint, Armor Coat, works well and is fuel proof after sitting for a couple of days.

I painted my flight box a couple of years ago with it and it seems to be standing up fine. I plan to give it a try on a fabric covered float plane I have.

The contents say:
Aliphatic Naptha
and Isobutane

On the can it says "Where to use":
Lawn Mowers
Storage Sheds
Metal Hand Rails
Exposed Metal Posts or Beams etc.

I have not tried it on a plane yet.

Hope this helps.

I have used rustoleum painters touch spray paint on a cowl and on a flight box and it has yet to be effected by fuel, raw or burnt. I let it dry for a week or so though. What I looked for was if it listed acetone in the "contents", I was told this would make it fuelproof, its worked. Got it from home depot.

My 2 cents
