Today I learned....

....not to try stationary rolls when your 5 minutes into a LiPo that usually provides about 6 minutes of light 3D runtime. (Duh!)
After practicing such repeatedly on a fresh battery I kept going a little too long - I got inverted and didn't have enough power in negative to complete the roll...or even gain altitude inverted. I watched it slowly settle to the ground inverted...and schmuck.
Minor damage...feathering spindle, possibly a mainshaft. The blades seemed to survive mostly intact - just a little dint on one at the grip. I expected much worse, but since it was throttling down in Low volt cutoff there wasn't much rotational damage.
I'll take it!
....the 3D learning curve continues, and this is my first at-fault crash in almost 50 flights (Yes, I'm counting), so I guess I shouldn't complain.
I think I'll start setting my TX timer now though to remind me when I'm about to near LVC so I can settle back into regular flight for the remainder of the battery.
