Know any individuals or groups that promote the hobby? I am sure there are many news articles in local papers but we never get to read them. I wonder how many might get posted here.

Good Guy?

Imagine my surprise when I checked RCC during lunch and find a new topic called "Official Good Guy List" "what's this about?" I says to myself. Only to find a newspaper clip of Ivan, Bob, Mike & me.

A few notes of interest, the newspaper is the Western Star servicing the west coast of Newfoundland. The article was printed on June 18th in reference to the Scale Aerobatics contest held in Stephenville on June 16th (details in SA forum).

The reporter stopped by for a short time took several pictures and spoke with many in attendance. Somewhere along the way he confused some facts concerning there isn't a NL branch of MAAC and I'm not the president. Currently I have no offical capacity with MAAC, I'm a member just like 12,000 more across Canada.

There are definately 3 Good Guys in the photo, Ivan K. & Bob H. travelled from Ontario to Stephenville for the event. They provided an S/A clinic followed by a contest which they judged. Many of the pilots and those in attendance have commented that it was the best single day of flying they have ever had! Mike Mercer the other gent in the photo is President of the Bay St. George Flyers. Mike worked with the club and provided an excellent venue for the contest complete with grub for the pilots. They worked hard ensuring everything was ready including shelters, impound, starting location, gate security, fencing excellent job.

As Dennis pointed out let's see some of the other +ve stories about modelling.
