Hmm, That got hot

So, I charged up my Extra. It has a 1100mah NiMh 6.0V in it and when the charge was done, I unplugged it but the banana plugs touched and there was a bit of smoke and some warm wires before I caught it.
Now, the switch seems fine, it turns on and off no problem, the servo's are all acting normally and the battery didn't seem hot when I touched it initially. I put the volt meter on it and I got 5.8V as a readout. I haven't cycled the battery in a while so it is quite possible that it isn't charging fully. What do ya think, trash the battery and switch or us it? I'm thinking its fine but I want some input from people who have experiance with this.
Hey Buddy, thats a Kadet not an Extra!!!

trash it

a fully charged 5 cell nicd should be pushing 7 volts. You wanna risk your model over a 30 dollar battery?

Change it dude, its obviously taken more than a quick short.

I always insure to disconect the battery before pulling the banna plugs off the charger.
you don't need CNC if you are handy with a torch.
