I'm in Surrey on business, and I was wondering if there are any hobby shops in the area that I should check out? Thanks, Jared

RC Pitstop has relocated to Langley.

Phil's is a neat place, if the gentleman running the place isn't next door having tea. He has a lot of old kits, and some weird stuff. It's smells like it's been there forever, and I like to go in once in a while. I've bought a kit off him last time I was there, and spent at least $40 above current retail pricing. I felt the visit was worth at least that

One of my regular haunts is Norburn, about 30-45 minute drive from Surrey. One of the best stocked local shops.

Three Floors hobbies (It may be called Creative hobbies, there are a few signs on the store front) in New Westminster is another old shop that has a bit of everything. It's on 6th street in New West, I'm not sure of the exact address though. Probably about 15 to 20 minutes from Surrey.

Surrey itself has nothing that I know of for shops. The Lower Mainlands largest club is located at Lando's field, on the corner of 176th st and Fraser Highway.

The best way to get to Central Hobbies is to take the Skytrain to Columbia Station and walk up 6th Street, a steep hill but only a short block, they are on the right, just before the light.
THEN get back on the Skytrain at Columbia Station and head East onto the Millenium Line and get off at Holdom Station. You walk up Holdom 1 block (to the light) and turn right onto Broadway. You walk a 1/2 block to the Strip Mall (it is on the top of a bank so a bit hard to see). Norburn are about the 3rd store from the left.

Going back to Surrey you reverse your tracks. You CAN continue on the Millenium Line West to Broadway Station and get back on the East Bound Expo Line which takes you directly to Surrey.

Your ticket is good for 90 minutes so you might even be able to do it on one fare. I am not entirely sure about Zones as I don't usually take it but MUCH cheaper than the gas you would burn.
