Well, the engine did not make it thru the second round this weekend. Sagged and lost power and deadsticked. When it was still warm it seemed like it had very little compression, could flip the prop over with very little resistance. But when it cooled down it would not go thru TDC although you can see the piston moves up and down, just will not go thru TDC, or BDC for that matter.

It is now in a box ready to got to DA this week. I am concerned about the number of people who have had bad luck with DA 50's. Talking to people at the Nats this weekend it was a real eye opener to hear how many people have had to send DA50's back for repair. No doubt DA has tremendous customer support. But is seems like the 50 is not a solid product.

A little late but, a bearing with the cage disintegrated will make a clinking noise. Without the cage, the balls all go to the bottom of the race. As you turn the crank over, one ball at a time will roll over the top and makes a "clink" as it falls ad hits the ball on the other side. With continued running until the pieces of the brg. cage work up through the transfer ports into the top of the piston and wedge between the head and the piston. Bummer!!! Ran into a lot of this with snowmobile and chainsaw engines. May not be but that's my take on it.
Tried for my kamikazi pilots licence. Flunked the test.
