Well lets consider this: The G26 we used was brand new, never run! I do know that after about a gal of fuel through her, my G26 picked up a fair bit more power. Now, put that with a lighter, less drag design, the G26 might just be plenty enough power. We'll definitely give it a try. No sense putting in a heavier engine if NOT needed for sure!

I have a new G26 for mine. I think it will provide sufficient power for the basic aerobatics I can do. I personally don't think this plane needs to do 3-D stuff. I can't fly those manouvers anyway. I had a small 40 size Decathlon and it was my favourite. I always coveted a big one. I have shown myself to be a lazy builder so.........this was a perfect solution. It's hard to beat the dollar value. I have gotten busy lately and have made a resonable start on the assembly. I'm looking forward to next flying season. I hope to be generally much more active in the hobby than I have been for the last two summers.

I have a G26 in the Cessna that I posted pictures of a page or two back....

With a MAS 16 -8 it was a bit of a dog. (You could see the prop flexing when I throttled up on the ground) I put a 16-8 Zinger on, and WOW! Totally different airplane!! (and I know zingers are not the most efficient props out there..) I love it now!!!

There are lighter and more powerful engines out there, but the 26 does an excellent job on the Cessna and allows some decent aerobatics (it is an Aerobat, after all..) at the same time.

Just picked up the 105" Super Decathlon from
William3590 that I traded another plane for.
What a beautiful plane!
Picked up a new DL 50 today and bolting it on tonight.
Hope it flys as good as it looks.
