Back in the 1960's/1970's/1980's they used to be sold in Hobby Shops. They operated on Solid Fuel, with a coiled wick that was lite and started the engine. Attached was an Augementer Tube for more thrust. I was just wondering if there still around anymore ?

And they came in two sizes. A small one that took only 2 pellets, and a larger one that took up to 4 pellets.
I still have some of the original fuse! Basically a very fine copper wire with a brownish coating.

Yes, they are still around but I believe under a different name. Still sold quite often in England.

Thats kool Mike. I did own the Scorpion Model at one time. It took a solid fuel pellet as big as a Looney, and was made out of Aluminum. I think its spelt Jetex. But there still on-line, I checked. But I highly doubt that they'd be available in Canada anymore since 9/11. Who knows though, I was just thinking about that wick that they used. Might be able to order one. They only went for a short time period, and then dwindilled out, even the big ones. Thank's though, I was just curious if there still around.

I happen to have one in the box sitting on my work bench. Many years ago in my dad's basment I lit one of the cordite fuses and man smoke every were. Did that only one and never again.
One day I would like to build a small freeflight and attach it to the jet-x motor.

Jetex motors came in various sizes, the smallest the Jetex 50, the largest the Scorpion 600. If memory serves, there was the 100 and the 150 but there would have been more.

I have a 600, and some pellets, but no fuse, nor screens... I don't think it was ever used!
