Very sad day today

I make this post with a very heavy heart, my very dear friend Gary Stong lost his battle with cancer today . Gary worked with Yellow Aircraft for many years, if anyone has ever owned a Yellow kit especially a jet Gary had something to do with It . He was a master with fiberglass but more important he was a great guy anyone who knew him will miss him dearly
I wish his wife Frieny his sons jeffrey and Jamie all the best to get through this difficult time

God Bless

A sad day indeed. We have lost one of the few remaining people who could take an idea and bring it to fruition. R.I.P.

That is sad. I had no idea. I had met Gary on a number of occasions when I traveled back east. I recall how proud he was of his new design that Yellow was about the release....the Stingray.

My thoughts and prayers go to his family.

Sorry to hear the news. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but I have flown and still own at least one of his creations.

I always think of moments like this in terms of what kind of mark you can leave on society before its your time to go. In his case, among the jet community that sounds like quite a legacy to be proud of...

Gary's influence was far and wide, he will be sadly missed, truly a modeller's modeller.
Blue skies my friend.

Gary strong passing

A great guy , Saw him a few weeks back & he looked good , then saw him at the Seaton valley closing day end of september & he didn't look good at all . told me how he decided to not take the chemo - it wouldn't cure him only prolong his life a little bit . Never thought it would be that fast of him passing . Remember him mostly with the FW 190 at the toronto club .
A sad loss indeed , we will all miss him .

As you say Ted, it's with a heavy heart when you loose a close friend such as Gary. I knew of him several years before actually meeting him one fine day at the hobby shop in Richmond Hill, about 15 or more years ago. Over time we became good friends. He helped me on many occasions while I was learning how to make fiberglass moulds. He was never hesitant in providing help when asked.
I had left Ontario for all of October and the day after I got back, Thursday, last week, I visited with him and his wife, Frieny. I'm very glad I did and we had a great conversation for a hour or so.
I'll miss him and be thinking of him every time I lay up a fiberglass plane.
God bless, RIP

I only knew Gary as an acquaintance through my long friendship with Eric Dizenbach. I found him to be a soft spoken nice kind of guy and he certainly was the skilled modeller we all wish we could be. A sad day indeed....
