Is there anyone on RCC from the Cambridge Ont. area that recognizes this spot. Found it while playing around with Google earth. Is it a building or a paved rwy. Looks to be about 30' wide by about 90' long.

Follow the link:
http://maps.google.ca/maps?ll=43.386...z=15&t=h&hl=en

Seems it's in the Dumfries Conservation area or just northwest of it.

It is right in the middle of the Dumfries park South of Dunbar rd. If you drive by there thanks for looking.

From the look fo the markings on it, it coukd be a shuffleboard court, or something like it..

Its not a building, a building would have a shadow like the other buildings near by. Cheers

Take a look at the Dumfries Conservation Area Master Plan at the bottom of page 1.

It's a cricket pitch maintained by the Cambridge Cricket Club.

Shame on you Ed! I thought you of all people would be able to spot that!

Well I thought it could be a cricket pitch but the original post said 30' wide by 90' long. That threw me. The 30'wide is Ok for two pitches side by side but If I remember correctly 66' was the length wicket to wicket.

Any way I do not have to drive out there now, the mystery is solved.

OH, and heaven forbid that anybody would fly model airplanes off a Cricket Pitch! Do so at your peril.
