It's not so much that they don't allow certain types of planes, but some fields are more suited to some types of planes.
An example is that the Rideau Club has a nice paved runway that is really good for smaller aircraft with smaller wheels. On the other hand, their membership fee is higher than other clubs' in town.
I don't know of any club in town that has an enforced rule stating that aircraft of type "X" shall not be flown. Any club that did would probably be shooting itself in the foot (IMHO).
The season out here is winding down, but if you see a nice warm calm Weekend day, take a drive out to some of the fields, and there will probably be people there to give you a feel for the club.
The ORCC next meeting is on Dec 4th. The time and location is on our website. You should come out and chat to people there and see what it's about!
