I amin Victoria BC this week
Jim...there is a small museum at the Victoria airport. I don't know what is in it as it was closed each time I went there....but more importantly, some where in one of the hangers is a flyable P-40 and a couple of other warbirds. There is a company there that has restored a couple of tigercats (F7F)... Ever seen a single tail Beech 18? floats??? There's a company there (or was..) doing conversions. I also heard a rumour that the Twin otter might be in production there soon..... Lots of stuff to poke around in............
There aren't enough days in the weekend. -- Steven Wright

When I was in Victoria for 2 1/2 weeks in 2005. There was a company restoring warbirds, mostly T-28 Trojans, there were lots flying in and out. There was also a Grumman Albatross parked there.

Jim, I use to buy a yearly Associate Membership for the CWHM which means you can go as many times within that year for NO additional cost. Its really a pretty good deal.

I believe it also allows you to take a friend for free up to three times a year. You also get a 10% discount on anything in their on site store AND you get a free flight in one of their old timers once a year on what they call their Member's Appreciation Day. Membership use to include free entrance to the Hamilton Airshow but I believe they have discontinued that now! Too bad, that was a great perk of membership! But all in all its still a good deal for unlimited visits per year!

If you've never been to the Hamilton Warplane Heritage Museum, you gotta go, its fabulous!

I went there one time and took about 2 hours of video of all their planes especially the Hawker Hurricane and the Spitfire. Three weeks later they had the big fire that destroyed the Spit, the Hurry and the Grummin Avenger! Now that put more than a tear in my eyes! That was at the old museum.

The new museum is truely awsome, you gotta go and see!

If you go for anything you have to see the Lancaster. It is truly an awesome plane. All the planes are inside now and some are apart for maintenance. The engine cowlings and parts of the wing were off the Lancaster. It is truly a work of art.
I wish I could have got up into it
Once again, the pics are from my phone and are a bit fuzzy
