Okay boys, I know this will open a huge can of worms. Note the title of the post, it has NOTHING to do with HITEC. Given the two choices I have suggested, JR 8611A Servos or the Futaba 9156, tell me which servo you would use and why...I DO NOT WANT to hear about your experiences with Hitec, I DON'T use them and I DON'T care if you think they are the greatest servo since sliced bread... OKAY Boys Git Er Done

TIA (thanks in advance)

PS these will be used on a Large Scale Plane...35% or larger. Ailerons, Elevators, Rudder
PSS this was also posted at other RC sites...

Why not a JR8711?
Faster, more torque and with heat sink.

I use 8611's on my 35% and they work great, smooth and lots of power. I can't comment on Futaba, have never used any of their gear.

I agree that u may want to look at 8711's, the only downside to them is they suck more juice. You will get away with 1 8711 on a 35% rudder vs 2x 8611's. On the 35% Carden 260 that I'm building right now, I'm considering setting it up for a single 8711 in each aileron as well.

Troybult models sells the 8711 for $114 usd.

I've had bad experiences with the 8611's... after about 50 flights, the gears develop slop. There is a great post on Flying Giants about the new 8711s - JR seems to have solved the gear slop issue found on the 8611s.

Therefore, if I had a choice between 8611s and Futaba, I'd go Futaba.

Disclaimer: Just my humble opinion!!
