Looks more like a military application to me then amateurs messing around....

Mine is not to reason why; I just wire them up to fry...I mean Fly!
I don't suffer from insanity...I enjoy every minute of it!!!
I never claimed to be the sharpest knife in the chandelier......

my guess is that if they could come up with a practical working model of this sort of technology, they would make millions and millions in gov't military contracts.

This already exists, and it is far surpast this actually. Suffield base in the south has more than a few Rmaxx RC Helis that have been converted with gunnery and survielance equipment etc.
