Futaba FAAST vs HT5955 Servo Signal Problem
Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
Just wondering if any of you are following the issue with the Futaba FAAST 14 ch Rx and Hitec Digital servos like 5955. This is getting some play on the RCU and FG fora.
The issue appears to be signal strength (volts) and the signal from the new 14 ch Rx may not have a high enough voltage to work properly with 5955's and other Hitec digitals. This is especially apparent if you "Y" servos together.
I was just in the process of ordering a 8 ch FAAST module for my 9C, but this latest problem has me concerned. I am not sure if the problem will be the same with the 8 ch Rx as their does not seem to be much info on it as yet.
Aside from he obvious "move to JR" solution, some are suggesting that using a Power Expander (Smart-Fly) will solve the problem since they boost the servo signal voltage. May not be technically correct but something like that.
However I really did not want to go to a Power Expander in my 50 cc gassers. Another $200 expense and something else to go wrong (IMO).
Any comments or thoughts ??
