Looking for a launcher

Does anyone have plans/drawings for a foot launcher? Bungi or elastic powered and foot released. I've seen them in videos but never a close enough look to work out the mechanics.

First question I would ask: what are you trying to launch?

The only time I needed a helper was with a Ddust. Everything else is super-easy (or has gear).

I've built a couple of Spads and usually end up flying alone...(not a habit hehe) but fact is I have enough trouble keeping things in the air without trying to hand launch by myself.. I saw a sweet looking "launcher" that was a simple 45 degree frame that came up to knee height and had some kind of release that was foot activated. The pilot was able to throtle-up and when he was ready to go he simply stepped on a "foot pedal"?? to release or launch the spad.

Need ALL the help I can get to make these sucessful flights...

Just a comment, have you tried switching hands while launching? I think launching would be easiest for left handed people, as you could throw it with your dominant hand and keep your other hand on the right stick. Personally, I find it so darned awkward to throw with my left, I chuck it with my right, then grab the stick. I find I've got lots of time to do this with my DPS. If you are having troubles with your hand launches, you could try switching hands.

Otherwise, good luck with your launcher, I've never seen or heard of such a thing.

I throttle up with my left and throw with my right hand, then control the plane after it gets about fifteen feet away in a shallow climb.

Mind you a, a .25fx on a 36" wingspan has healthy power.

Gotta love neck straps.
