Just wondering if anyone else has picked up one of the new GP L-39 EDF's?

Happened to catch one when they were in stock at Tower a week or two ago. It arrived the other day and I'm quite impressed with it. While not a 100% true scale model (exagerated panel lines and no gear), at least the airframe doesn't have auxilliary air inlet holes like some other EDF foam models.

It'a also quite simple in terms of assembly. Add your radio gear and esc, assemble and install the ducted fan unit, and glue on the wing and tail surfaces. And it's also quite light. The manual says it weighs in at 500g but I'm not sure if they meant it includes the ESC, battery, and radio gear or not but the basic airframe feels extremely light and nowhere near 1 pound.

Anyways, I still need to purchase a couple of batteries and another Rx before I can get going on it. But given the beautiful weather here in Toronto today, I'm gonna have to get going soon!

Re: Gp L-39 Edf

I got one too...waiting patiently since last August for Great Planes to get them in stock... I'm pretty impressed with it, but it is still sitting in the box as I have two other projects to complete first.....
