What do you mean trying to learn solo ????
Are you trying to learn by yourself in a park somewhere ?? Very Bad Idea.
Do you have insurance ?????

You said you had a Sig Kadet Mark II. Thats a good trainer, I had one.
BUT, and I mean but....if you have a problem and have any type of accident.
Be it a crash, a flyaway, anything. That plane can cause serious injury and or property damage.

You need to get registered with MAAC ( Insurance ) they can tell you where there is a club local to you.
Go To The Club !!!! Join, take proper lessons. You will be much happier, everyone around you will be much safer. And you will make some new friends.

Re: Where to start??

I agree with Bdegan... Join a local club!!! While I have the property to be able to fly solo, I opted to join a local club and learn the correct way. Excellent instructor=WINGS!!! The new friends aspect is also a bonus not to mention the wealth of knowledge that is available at your local club. ie: my instructor pointed out several adjustments that had to be made which in turn allowed my plane to handle like a dream and not turn it into a lawn dart. Some things in life are GTG for a solo but i think RC planes is not one of them. You will really enjoy the SKII as I have heard nothing but praise for them. Good luck and welcome to the addiction.

Welcome to R/C canada.

There are a couple of things you should do.

Please edit your profile to let us know what city/town etc you live in.

If you are only getting interested you should go to a local club on the weekend to really see waht it is all about. If you want to ask questions I am certain that the members will welcome you.

You can use this link to find a club close to where you live.

You can also check out R/C planes using this link.

If you already have some equipment you could take it to the field with you.

Talk to the club members and ask what radio they use and what trainers they like. It is good to use equipment that the instructors are familiar with.

Also check to see if the cord is available or if the club instructor will provide one.
