I would have to agree with the last post from RCC JAY. Whatever is easiest to get parts for. And as far as the EZ start goes, the only thing i have done is use a seperate glow igniter. The battery pack lasts alot longer and if your igniter goes dead, its easy to just plug the onboard one back in till it's charged again. Just make sure the loose end doesn't touch metal when your starting it. Personaly, yanking on a rope sucks and so do broken recoil springs. And they will break even if your only pulling short strokes.

If the broken recoil springs and rope snapping doesn't detour you enough from pull starters then the finger blisters from a stubborn engine will definitely do it.
