Glad it's working out for you Gary. What prop and how many rpm's ? I'm running a CRRC Pro 45 on one of my planes and @ $200.00 COMPLETE I don't think I'll ever dish out $600 + $$'s for an engine in that size again.

Hey, I hear you my friend......I'm running a Xoar 22" X 8 Prop and am getting a top end of around 7000 RPM running an MTW Cannister and SS Header Pipe. It still has a way to go before its fully broken in according to the MFG. I have completed the two hours of ground running and have just started the flying which is suppose to go for about another 2-3 gals of fuel to be considered broken in @ a mixture of 30:1.

Then I will switch to a 23" X 8 prop and change the mix to 45:1 full synthetic.

I am very happy with the performance of the DL 50 engine and am thankful I decided to give it a try rather than opting for another DA 50. $300 savings will buy a lot of fuel and other goodies for the hobby. AND so far, I haven't heard of one DL 50 having to be sent back for some upgrade or refit to keep it running, which can't be said for the DA. Sorry, but thats just a fact!

We'll see how they hold up for the long run but I have great confidence in this reasonablely priced little gasser AND so far, so good!!

Re: Fired up the DL 50!

Hey Guys,

I just received my DL-50 in the mail. This is also my first gasser. I'm still waiting for the airframe, but it should be here this week. I'm really looking forward to running this thing for the first time.

What kind of #'s do you think I can expect with the stock muffler? I noticed your getting 7000 with the pipe. Do you think 6500 will be a reasonable guess? oh and i'm going to be running a 22x8 xoar prop.
