.
Yes you would as long as its 1/4 scale or bigger its considered giant scale. How about this one Bumble Bee

If you are going to fly giant scale and intend on attending and flying at giant scale events you might want to familiarize yourself with the requirments safety wise for your aircraft.

Servo arms and control horns should be rated heavy duty. Glass filled servo arms and control horns are
highly recommended.
Control surface linkages are listed in order of preference:
1. Cable system (pull-pull). A tiller bar is highly recommended along with necessary bracing.
2. Arrow-shaft, fiberglass or aluminum, 1/4" or 5/16" OD. Bracing every six (6) to ten (10) inches is
highly recommended.
3. Tube-in-tube (nyrod). Bracing every few inches is highly recommended. Inner tube should be totally
enclosed in outer tube.
4. Hardwood dowel, 3/8" OD. Bracing every six (6) to ten (10) inches is highly recommended.
Hinges should be rated heavy duty and manufactured primarily for use in giant sized aircraft.
Homemade and original design hinges are acceptable if determined to be adequate for the intended
use.
Clevis (steel, excluding heavy-duty ball links) and attachment hardware should be heavy-duty 4/40
thread and rod type. 2/56 thread size rod is acceptable for some applications (e.g. throttle). Clevises
must have lock nuts and sleeve (fuel tubing) or spring keepers.
Propeller tips should be painted or colored in a visible and contrasting manner to increase the
visibility of the propeller tip arc.

Actually, it is not. The model, regardless of the full size, must have a minimum wingspan of 80" if it is a monoplane or 60" if it is a multi-wing. Percentages do not play as the deciding factor. It must meet the required minimum.

It seems to me that this sentence does allow it.

Quarter (1/4) scale replica's or larger with proper documentation (minimum 3 view drawing of an actual person carrying aircraft) which do not fit the size requirements will be permitted.

Re: What is GIANT SCALE

Yep, my apologies. I did not see that line where it says "do not fit the requirements'. It was always my understanding that the minimum wingspan of 80", etc, had to be met, regardless of the percentages. Learn something new every day!

The CriCri is rather unique, as well as the Bumble Bee.

Most prop planes would probably fit the normal bill, with maybe the exceptions of very few jets.

The CF104 has a span of 261".
At 25% it would only be 65".

I imagine something like the Mig-21 would be in the same range.

Alot of kit manufacturers, and I'm thinking TopFlite for example, will advertise as "IMAA Legal". The span might say 81". The extra 1" is just to make sure there's no question about it.

Just so if anyone doesn't know numerical designation as what CF-104 is, its F-104 Starfighter, ie Missile on wings as its been quoted before.

Please stick to the topic. If you want to talk about numerical designations please start your own thread.
