Looking for a decent airframe

I'm wondering if anyone has or knows of somebody with a Pattern airframe the
want to sell? I have an Enigma that was broken previous to my aquiring it, but that one is going to take some time to do the
repairs on and make look nice again. In the meantime I want to start
flying. I tried to maiden my Leo110 this past weekend. It was
unsuccessful at best. The airplane would not rotate for anything, we
tried shortening the tailwheel to give a more positive angle of attack but
it just would not rotate. After a dozen or so attempts I had had enough
so I took the airplane apart to go home, I'm glad I did as I found the
gear block, the forward fuse sides, and about half of the formers had all
popped loose. Had it become airborne it probably would have come apart
during the flight. The belly pan had also vibrated itself through all the
As such, although not difficult to repair, the need to remove all the
radio equipment as well as engine/tank etc in order to reglue everything
will take as much or more time than putting a new ARF airframe together.
I am currently looking at a Composite Arf Impact that Ivan Kristensen is
selling though I've heard they need significant reinforcing in the tail
section, or the Xtreme composites Otop, but the only place that has those
in stock is Chief Aircraft and I've heard more horror stories about them
than success stories. BVM doesn't have stock on the Otop and is at least
3 months away from having any if I order now.
I would like a reasonably current airframe, something that would fly well
up to at least Masters with a YS1.20 would be preferred though I do have
the 1.40DZ as well for the Enigma. I looked at the pattern list's for
sale but there isn't anything there other than Ivan's Impact that I'm
interested in. I can spend up to $1000 on an airframe but don't want to
go more than that. I looked at the Focus II ARF from Central as well, but
it doesn't do much for me so I thought I'd check here in case somebody has something. I am in Abbotsford, BC so if you don't live locally be sure it's something that you can ship.

Re: Looking for a decent airframe

I have seen guys fly the full size Focus II and seemed to fly well.

If you want something for your 1.20 then this would be a good option to consider:

Check around on some forums though....

Central Hobbies has the same deal and they are really good to deal with:

Hey Paul,
Yeah, I just don't like the Focus, I picked up a new Impact today out of Oklahoma for $350 plus shipping. So I'll get that flying while I fix, strip and paint the enigma
