I was at the CFB Borden air show last weekend, they had some of the same demonstrations.
Most interesting to this group would have to be the R/C Avro Arrow.
Despite the wind it seemed to be flying pretty good, until it turned towards the spectators and crashed. From where I was standing it looked like in crashed into the spectators but as it fortunately turned out, it crashed just before the crowd. All I could see was pieces of the jet flying at least 5 feet above the heads of the spectators.
Next the Skyhawks took off and took out a few seagulls on the runway and had to turn back for an inspection, as the birds were being picked off the runway.
Another thing that was really spectacular was when Gene Soucy and Teresa Stokes did their routine against a black sky with a couple lighting bolts in the background. That would've been a really incredible picture had anybody been lucky enough to catch it.
One of the most impressive things I have never seen before is this guy who in a glider, flew inverted to cut a ribbon held above the runway. Totally amazing, and seems incredibly dangerous.
Unfortunately, the Snowbirds had to stop their show about half way through because it started to rain.
Here is Gene and Teresa (I did not catch the lighting bolts )
