Re: SPE 40cc gaser

The SPE gas engines come with a Melody ignition system which has been well documented for being problematic. They have a tendancy to work for a short period of time and then loose the ability to generate a good spark. Now having said that I,m sure that there are a good number of these engines that have not had a problem at all.
Do a search on RCU under BCMA or SPE engines for lots of info.
I,ve also sent you a PM.

Re: SPE 40cc gaser

The one I tested for Fly RC last fall ran really well. I was pretty impressed, considering it is an "economy" type engine. Ran great, produced respectible power - more than enough to fly the 15 pound Lanier Stinger I have quite comfortably.

As for the ignition, I had two of the Melody units and they both seemed fine. I have since sold the engines and I trust they are still working fine as I havt heard back from the new owners with any issues.

if its got a wing or two and an engine - I like it!
