I have an Hanger 9 micro digital tack.
There use to be a way of test a tack by pointing it at a fluorescent light which blinks ----? somany time per second.
My tack is reading 360 useing a light
is this correct for anyone that has used this method

Re: Tack test
Ken, and Ken:
Even more accurate if you use an incandescent bulb; fluorescent bulbs never quite turn off all the way. (well, they turn off but the phosphor glows for seconds afterwords)
It should read 3600 RPM when set to a two blade prop (3600 RPM = 120 pulses per second = 60 cycles per second power, one positive and one negative per second).
My brain hurts.
Yes your tach seems to work if the reading says x10 on or around the display.
