Re: poor transission on spe 26

I have just bought one too... and it did the same thing ( bogged on the throttle up transition)... I richend up the low speed needle and it did seem to go away.. But I still have to break mine in.. The low speed is at 1 3/4 turns.. I also flipped my cylinder 180 deg, but I don't think that would make any difference.. I'm going to run another tank though it today so we'll see.. I have a EVO 26 that's flawless, but for the difference of $210 I thought I would give the SPE a try.. Hope I didn't throw $240 out the window :0...

Re: poor transission on spe 26

The SPE 26 is a good little running gasser for the price. Mine also needed the low speed opened up from out of the box to transition from idle to full cleanly.

In general, if the low speed (idle) needle of an engine is too lean, it will not only affect the transition up (basically what you are experiencing, ie, the engine dies upon opening up the throttle) but also allow the wide open running to over heat from being too lean.

Just open the needle an 1/8th turn at a time. Dont forget to let the engine warm up for a minute at the least before expecting a clean, quick transition.

if its got a wing or two and an engine - I like it!
