My 2 cents:

Make sure the heli has a driven tail, and not one with the small motor. I learned on the 30 and 50 size nitro helicopters so a small heli is mostly for fun.

Had the E-sky honeybee. Didn't like it. The tail is too loose and you waste a lot of time re-orienting as the tail wags back and forth in wind or from torque changes.

Something like a 450 size heli gives good power for its size. (agree with ddruck) They are more expensive than the CP's but you get value for your money. They are flyable under most conditions. The heli can support you as your abilities grow. This is important since you will not get bored of a heli that can handle everything you throw at it.
Parts cost is reasonable. (compared to my 680mm heli)

Re: Which Micro should I get ?

Just wanted to say thanks again for all your thoughts and advice, I ended up getting a T-rex 450 SA package, and plan on taking it to my lhs next week to have them check it out and help set it up....

Look forward to getting in the air and living out my simulator in reality....

cheers to all.

Re: Which Micro should I get ?

Thank god you got that, that is a far better machine then a HB2 etc,,, buying cheap helis always costs you more money and more frustration down the road, no if and or buts about it. If peeps say your on a budget, then save till you can get the better one etc....
Once upon a time there were Nitros, Flybars & Frequency pins

Thumbs up Re: Which Micro should I get ?

these are cool for practising in the winter
http://www.helidirect.com/product_in...oducts_id=7693 look it up on youtube great little heli played with one at the LHS full function flies better then larger fixed pitch and hard to break and if you happen to break a part they are not expensive. 2.4 radio comes with it as well. By the way you made the right choice with the trex I have a king 2 It is garbage IMO.
