For the last few years my raptor has been sitting in the basement gathering dust. But about 2 months ago I dug it out and have been flying almost everyday. I have been practicing real fast steep stall turns all week. When all of a sudden I started thinking hey a loop would be cool. Well it was the nicest loop ever until it plowed into the ground. The helicopter took up way way more room for loop then I thought it would need.
The skid gear exploded into a hundred pieces. The tail boom bent where it attaches to the frame. The muffler bolts bent. My rx antenna was snapped right in half. The lower part of the frames are destroyed!! But my engine faired pretty good with only a slightly bent cooling fin.
I think repairs will run in the $150.00 range .

Bummer. Did it crack the walnuts open?
Did you ever sell the JR Ergo, why not ready that for flight?

After the rebuild try some green TT paddles or similar. That will make it loop much tighter. We've all been there. I remember looping a big fat gasser into the ground many, many, years ago. Same thing too low and too slow of a cyclic. I was at the stage you were in exploring my helicopter in the air.

Sorry to hear.

Good luck with the repairs. Now that you have that over with, you can relax and enjoy flying. You found where your limit is and where to start pushing. All the more reason to celebrate the next time you proceed to complete the loop.
