True - the rest of the B-18 lineup were not as pretty…

Hi Brenden,

The windshield you speak of is a variant and I'm not sure it's attributable to any particular year. That's at least according to Chimo Air Service in Red Lake.

You'll find that there are nearly as many variants as aircraft out there.

I have several detailed pics of the one owned by Chimo and of the static one in Ignace, ON; both on floats.

Drop me your email and I'll send you what I have.

I know this is an older thread but i thought I might add this cool plane to the discussion.
Barkley-Grow T8P-1. Quite a Canadian history story here.

Re: Beechcraft 18 or "twin beech"

There was a Beech 18s at the maintenance school I attended. I instantly fell in love with this aircraft. It was just very cool looking. A twin radial tail dragger with two vertical stabs. I was able to start this beast up and do a full throttle run-up. Talk about adrenallin surge. I had a smile ear to ear, when those two Pratt & Whitney R985s were shaking the airframe at full throttle in a defening roar that only radial engines can make. I wanted the ground crew pull the chocks and cut the rope. I wanted to fly her as much as she wanted to fly. There was a problem with that though. There was a hanger in the way.LOL!!!. When I was told to shut her down and come back to reality. I had to laugh, because the deep sound of the full throttle run-up set off two or three car alarms in the parking lot in front of the tarmac. What an experience. I only wish I could have flown her.
