I have always been intrigued by the Perry Pump system, Mostly because you can run a very large carb. I finally picked up a used one. It fits the K&B .40 engines. First of all I could not blow through it, so I hooked the engine up to a tank and flipped the hell out of it and nothing. I got the fuel right up to the pump and raised the tank above the engine and added a little more oil to the carb and used the starter on it, still nothing. I left it a couple of days with the tank about six inches above the engine, I still could not get it to work. This bugged me for a week or so. One day while topping up my A/C the light went on. Why not connect the pump to my field box pump, so I did and got sprayed a few times, Then the fuel started to go through. Now when I flip it a little squirt of fuel comes out. I connected the intake and outlet of the pump together with a piece of fuel line and left it full of fuel. Now when I flip it over I can watch the bubbles go around in circles. I will let you kinow what the results are when I get it ready to run.

Re: Perry Pump Plugged

The Perry Pump was a diaphagm pump just like the ones designed in the back of
high perf OS engines. Opening the gold Hex valve should control the flow. You must use
a pressure tap from the engine crankcase for the pump to get the pulses to
operate the diaphragm. There were two for glow fuel and one for
gas I believe. Let us know how it works
